 Highly Anticipated Coldplay Concert Sparks Ticket War, Frauds, and Homophobic Debate in Indonesia

The November concert in Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium will mark the first time the band Coldplay is performing in Indonesia. Coldplay fans in Indonesia felt nervous and could not relax as they prepared to buy the tickets on 17 May 2023. 

They tried their best, but some didn't succeed. For many people, the tickets were flying away from their reach too quickly. Social media users posted screenshots that they could not even access the ticket website because over 500,000 people were on the waiting list already.

After all the scams that occured, police said at least 60 people became victims per Tuesday. They lost Rp183 million ($12,293) in total.

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police also arrested a young couple aged 22 and 24 who scammed people with Coldplay tickets. 

Spokesperson of the national police, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, said the police received reports of fraud in the Jakarta area, Riau Islands, and Middle Java. Vice President Ma'ruf Amin also reminded the public to be careful.

"Regarding the Coldplay tickets, yes, I suppose it's not just Coldplay, but also in everything that the public be careful so not to be duped easily," said the 80-year-old VP.

Chris Martin has been a strong advocate for gay rights. The conservative groups in Indonesia use that as the pretext to reject the band. 

The strongest voice comes from PA 212 (Persaudaraan Alumni 212 or Brotherhood Alumni of 212) which strongly rejects Coldplay. But the moderate Indonesia Ulama Council (MUI) also voiced their rejection. The deputy head of MUI Anwar Abbas highlights Coldplay's support toward LGBT community, and he believes Coldplay would ruin the morality in the country.

In Indonesia, the political support toward gay rights in Indonesia is rather dim. Populist politicians and public figures often avoid the advocacy issues to protect the LGBT community. Although ironically, homosexual artists such as Troye Sivan, Sam Smith, and Freddie Mercury are immensely popular in the country.

The government of President Joko Widodo has tried to de-escalate the situation. Minister for Tourism Sandiaga Uno said he has heard the opinions from the religious figures while ensuring the legality of Coldplay's concert. 

"We have opened communication and wanted to hear the inputs and suggestions from the ulamas as a part of our [efforts] to ensure that this concert is within the legal corridor in Indonesia," said Sandiaga. 

Sandiaga said that Coldplay's concert will be beneficial for the economy and tourism. The minister also hopes that Coldplay will be able to have a second day concert in Jakarta.

In 2012, Lady Gaga's concert was finally cancelled after dangerous threats from the conservative groups. Lady Gaga, who is also a strong LGBT rights advocate, was dubbed as vulgar and satanic. 

Since the rejection, Lady Gaga has gained more power and popularity, including winning an Oscar. But Lady Gaga still has not visited Indonesia.

1. Direction Airport

I went to arab for business and vacation. before flying to saudi arabia i have to prepare my passport and ticket. I bought a plane ticket online, the ticket price was IDR 45,259,200/person with Garuda Indonesia airline. There is a recent regulation from the UAE regarding names consisting of only one word that cannot be entered/exited. I flew on August 17, 2023. I went from home to Ahmad Yani Airport by car.

After arriving at the airport, I immediately checked-in, because check-in must be done at least 3 hours before the scheduled departure. After that, I weighed my luggage (luggage) as well as checked the goods as well as immigration. Then after that I looked for the departure gate that matched the ticket or monitor screen at the airport. I had to pay attention to the sign indicating the direction of the corridor I was going. After arriving at the designated waiting area, I looked for a seat to wait for an hour and I was invited to board the plane. 

After being allowed to enter the plane, I immediately entered according to the arrangements of the airlines that usually regulate the flow of entry into the plane. After entering, I looked for a seat that I ordered and sat while looking at the outside view of the plane through the plane window.

my name is haidar aziz. I will tell you about my daily activities. Every morning I wake up at 04.30. Then, I take a shower to prepare for going to school. school. I went to school at 05.00 in the morning. I went to school on the Trans Jateng bus, and had to go to the bus stop to get on it. After taking the Trans Jateng bus and arriving at Penggaron, I switched to the Trans Semarang bus. Then I got off the Trans Semarang bus at the bus stop Gramedia Semarang. 

I arrived at school at 06.30.

After that, I took the Trans Jateng bus corridor 6 and got off at the Tegowanu village office stop. After getting off, my parents picked me up to go home. I got home around 17.30 in the afternoon. Maghrib prayer I have dinner. Then after hearing the call to prayer for the isyak prayer, I immediately go to the isyak prayer. After the prayer, I study until 22.00 at night. After that I sleep.

1.   Definition

Recount Text is a type of text that contains stories of our experiences in the past. The purpose of Recount Text is usually to retell and provide information and entertain the reader.

Personal recount   
A personal recount is what’s most likely to be covered in school. This type of recount writing is all about the writer’s recollection of a particular event or experience. It includes things like diary writing, but it’s also what we do whenever we tell someone a story about something that happened to us.

Factual recount

A factual recount includes things like newspaper reports. The purpose of a factual recount is to inform (rather than entertain) the reader about a particular event. Because of this, adverbs and adjectives are less important. You’ll often see facts and figures in this kind of recount writing.

 

Imaginative recount

This kind of recount writing applies factual knowledge of an event to create a fictional account of that event. The purpose of an imaginative recount is to help the reader understand an event by providing a fictional recount that’s as true-to-life as possible. They’re perfect for creative writing lessons.

 

Procedural recount

Procedural recounts aren’t very common in English lessons - they’re more for scientists. In fact, they’re most often used to describe an experiment so that it can be replicated by others. Because of this, the language needs to be exact. Procedural recounts might not even involve the use of full sentences.

 

Literary recount

This kind of recount writing is all about entertainment. They can be about fictional or real events and involve real or fictional characters. For an interesting writing challenge, why not try exploring a fictional event with real characters, and vice versa.

5.   Expression

There are some language features in personal recount text, those are:
• Using simple past tense 

i.g. I spent my holiday in Yogyakarta and I was very happy 

 

• Using action verbs 

i.g. spent, went, brought, took, etc

• Using adverb or adverbial phrase to express time and place. i.g. last month, in Malang, lately, etc.  

• Using conjunction and time connectives to connect an event to the other event

i.g. and, or, after, before,after that, then, when, first, etc.

Goes to Seoul

I spent my last summer holiday in Seoul, South Korea. I went there with my friends. On the first day, I was landed at Incheon Airport around 7 AM after a 6 hours long flight. Then I went to Seoul by train and checked in to the hotel I already booked. I decided to take a rest for a while. At night, I went to Hongdae, a famous district in South Korea. I went to eat traditional Korean food. On the next day, I went to the Gyeongbokgung Palace and National Museum. I also went to learn how to make Kimchi and see the scenery of Seoul from Seoul Tower. I went back to the hotel at 10 PM and immediately went to sleep.

I spent my last day in Myeongdong and bought some stuffs and souvenirs for my family and friends. I also ate the street food there. I went to the airport at 3 PM because my flight was at 5 PM. I had a fantastic experience in South Korea and made wonderful memory with my friends. It was a great trip.

 7.   Writing

Last week I went to my friend's house named Lutfian. His house is in the Jangli area, Upper Semarang. My trip started by taking the BRT bus from the bus stop near my house by bus to the Penggaron terminal. I paid for a BRT bus ticket for Rp. 4,000.

After arriving at the Penggaron terminal, I took a bus to Mangkang. Then I got off at the Semarang Samsat stop. Then, to go to the Jangli area, I got on a motorcycle with my friend Hananto. After arriving at Jangli, I was warmly welcomed by my friend named Lutfian.

Besides Hananto, there were also Syafiq, Hari, and Dhafa. After that we did the assignment together. Then, at 2pm, we returned to our respective homes.

Borabudur – located in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia – is a famous nineteenth – century Mahayana Buddhist Temple. How to describe a person.

1.     VOCABULARY

Vocabulary is commonly defined as "all the words known and used by a particular person".A vocabulary is a set of familiar words within a person's language. A vocabulary, usually developed with age, serves as a useful and fundamental tool for communication and aqcuiring knowledge. Acquiring an extensive vocabulary is one of the largest challenges in learning a second language.

2.     WORD ORDER

Word order in English is a standard arrangement of words to form a sentence that has a complete meaning.

As an example with the sentence "I love you" which turns out to be arranged in the form of subject + verb + object (SVO) which in the end has a meaning to use.

1. Understanding Description Text

A.Description text contains a description of a certain object, place, or event so that the reader can feel, see, smell, and hear it.

 

B.The generic structure of descriptive text is=There are 3 descriptive text structures, namely identification, section descriptions, and conclusions/impressions.

 

C.The sentences used in descriptive text are=detailed sentences or sentences that aim to detail or explain an object to make it more concrete and clarify sensory impressions for readers

MONAS

Monas is a large, golden monument located in the center of Jakarta, Indonesia. The monument is shaped like a cone and is covered in intricate carvings.

The Borobudur Temple is one of the most stunning sights in all of Indonesia. The temple is made up of nine stacked levels, each of which is decorated with intricate carvings and statues of Buddha.

TRASH CANS AT SMKN4 

The trash bins at smkn4 are medium-sized and have three colors: green for leaves,red for paper and recycled materials, and blue for non-recyclable waste.

The trash cans are located in various corners of the Semarang Dismkn4 room. So that every student and teacher can easily dispose of trash in its place.

Chapter 8 is about easy morals. Chapter 9 is about al-kulliyatu al-khamsah. Chapter 10 is about the method of preaching Islam in the archipelago.

English module book published by Erlangga. This book was written by Shyla K. Lande and Eka Mulya Astuti. This book is included in the 2013 curriculum.

The English module book for class X SMA has 236 pages. It also has 13 learning units. Each page has fun material and is accompanied by pictures that make it easy to understand learning

5. Example of descriptive text

             Tiger

The tiger (Panthera tigris) is included in mammals, namely animals that suckle. Big cats are predatory and meat-eating animals. Tigers can reach 1.5 meters high, 3.3 meters long and weigh 300 kilograms. Its coat is white and golden brown with black stripes or stripes. The canines are strong and sharp to tear flesh.

Four large legs with strong claws for pounce on prey. Tigers easily adapt to new environments. Tigers can live in forests, grasslands, and brackish areas or mangrove forests. In Indonesia, tigers can be found in forests and mangroves on the islands of Sumatra and Java.

Serayu River

Serayu River is a clean and natural river. The width of the Serayu River can be more than 10 meters, this river is very wide and also long. The Serayu River has clean and fresh water.

This river is a very clean and beautiful river, because around the Serayu river there is no trash and on the banks of the Serayu river there are piles of rocks that are stacked evenly and neatly.

These rocks are often used as a seat for people who are fishing on the edge of the Serayu river. Serayu River is one of the rivers that is often used as a fishing spot.
